This photo was taken last spring on a drive to Camden, Mike and I were going to scout a location for a wedding that we were photographing the next week. It was a dreary day and it was raining off and on. The apple tree in the foreground looked kind of interesting in the fog so we decided to stop and take some photos. Sometimes you get lucky, what started as a gray flat sky turned into what you see above, the clouds thinned out a little and the sun brightened the area just above the trees and made for a more interesting photograph. It only lasted for a few minutes and then it got dreary again.
I'd like thank Klaus over at Virtua Gallery and Helen at Wings n Things for passing on the award "5 Blogs That Make My Day." When I started this blog it was just a way for me to share my photos with others but knowing that people look forward to viewing my blog everyday is quite an honor. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments each day and I look forward to viewing your blogs also.

John. beautiful.. so glad that they passed the award on to you.. you are very deserving.. I look forward to you wonderful photos and helpful post each day.. thanks for sharing.
Wonderful picture! Isn't the tree on the left the one that Mike showed a couple of days ago? You both looked at the same scene and took wonderful, but different pictures! I love the eerie stark quality of the whole picture! Congrats on the well-deserved award! Your photography makes my day, too!
Images like this one are the reason your blog helps start my day right!
There is just something about a beautiful tree photo. This one is lovely. It's those moments in time that are so fleeting and rare. Thanks John and congrats on the award, yours truely is a blog to make your day.
Gorgeous landscape, John. I love the atmospheric feeling it has. Congratulations on the award. Your blog has been a favorite of mine for a long time. My first visit was on my birthday, February 7th and you have never failed to post a fantastic picture. Well done, John. A well deserved award.
John-
Very nice image, I think it might be one of my favorites of all the images that you have posted. It captures the ruggedness of Maine that I have gotten to know quite well.

A terrific landscape shot John. I'd frame that one.
This photo just made my day.
I have been rummaging around through your older posts. They are great. I came over from Virtua (which I just found). I have been blogging for a little less than 4 months. It's basically a nature and scenic blog and I haven't decided on a regular format yet.
By the way, Edwin Way Teale was a favorite of mine as a kid. I couldn't afford to buy the books, but I read them all in my school library.
I am adding you to my "Nature Blog" blogroll.
I'll be back to read some more later and enjoy the fine photographs.
Have a great day,
Troy
