Here's Looking at You....

Here's a photo I took on Saturday of one of two sparrows that have been hanging around my yard, I think they're building a nest. This shot was taken about seven feet from the road and I think I could've gotten even closer but a car went by and scared it off.

I didn't have a chipping sparrow on my property until about two years ago. My friend 8 miles away has had them for years. She calls them the "cell phone" bird because she always used to think their call was a cell phone ringing!!!
You captured him when he was posed just right John!!

That's a beauty! Aside from great detail and color - he also poses well! Cheers, Klaus

I hope they are building there. They are so cute and happy. Last year a cowbird left a little present for a chipping sparrow here...that tiny little thing had a time keeping the huge baby fed, but it just went back and forth....I didn't see any of the baby sparrows left!
Thanks for your comments on my blog today. Yep, the azaleas were Adobe's contribution to my baby blue.

What a beautiful little bird. It would be nice if they nested there. They returned to one of my walking places a couple of weeks ago and the grasses are alive with them. Nice shot, John.

A common bird captured in a uncommon manner. I love the way his head feathers pop in the photo!

I hope you see it again! I've got a couple hanging around that I hope are nesting somewhere. They are such cute little birds. I like the attitude and the title to fit :-)

Very nice picture John!

Hopefully you'll have plenty more photographic opportunities if they are building a nest!
