Prarie Ringlet....


This picture was taken a few years ago and was shot on film. Butterflies don't fly at night because it is cool so they spend it clinging to grass and flowers waiting for the sun to come up. When the conditions are right they become covered in dew like this and you have to be out there before the sun comes up and warms them up and they fly off.

Wonderful picture! You really capture all those little water droplets perfectly! I'm always amazed at this type of photography.

What a beautiful shot. It looks like its wings are trimmed with jewels. I guess it's natures adornment. :-)
