Chicory...

Chicory is easy to spot on the roadside; it's tall and the bright blue really stands out. Something else I've noticed is the blossoms only last one day and by looking at this photo you can tell the hoverflies really like them when they're blooming.

Wow John that is fantastic...still can't wait for the book!!! The chickory is about all I have growing in my yard right now!!! Now I'll look at it as a work of art!! I have a request for goldenrod photos from you!!

I love the color of chickory! I would like to get some growing in my yard somewhere :-) It always catches my eye on the roadside. That photo is great with all the hoverflies! I wouldn't think that bugs would improve a photo, but they make it more interesting.

I hate to announce my ignorance, but I had no idea that was chicory! Lovely photo, even with the flies.

Hello John

Another of my favourite flowers - I love the deep blue colour. Not to be confused with the Common Blue Sowthistle, which can appear quite similar. Do you have that over there?

Best wishes, Adrian

The color is so soothing. I have always loved these fragile flowers.

Wow, another amazing one! I especially like that little critter on top with the nice wing span.
