Fall Preview....
The other day I noticed a few trees changing color so today I'm posting a preview of what's soon to come. This photo is from a few years ago; hopefully I'll get some good autumn shots to post this year. This spot is also only a few feet away from where the crayfish crawled out of the water in the photo I posted yesterday.
That is gorgeous and I can't wait to see the rest of a Maine fall! I know the color will be spectacular and you will photograph it so beautifully for us :-)
Hi John! We made it to Gorham in 7.5 hours! Still no fall color here either...or home...I think its late for sure. I'm still looking for you!!! We'll be on the boat to Long Island tomorrow!
What a beautiful scene and so well-captured. The colors, both cool and warm, are so vivid in this photo, and I love the movement of the stream. Looking foward to more autumn from you. (Mine is a bit drab for the most part.)
My books are hot off the presses at Blurb! Take a sneak peek and place your order if you're so inclined by clicking on the cover photo above. An eBook version for download to your iPad or iPhone is now available in the iTunes store.
I live in Lewiston, Maine and have for most of my life. I've always had an interest in nature; as a kid I read books by Edwin Way Teal, Rachael Carson, among others, and I used to love studying the Golden Nature Guides. When I got into photography it was natural for me to take pictures of the natural world. A few years ago I got into kayaking and that allowed me to get to places I would never be able to by hiking and of course this gives me more photography oppurtunities. I realized years ago you don't have to travel to exotic locations to get good photographs. I have to admit I'm lucky to be living in a beautiful state with a lot of natural diversity, but I've taken good pictures right in my own back yard and neighborhood.

what a fabulous photo. I love this time of year when the trees start their change.
Excellent - you got to love those colors and the softness! Wonderful, John!

This is beautiful. I love the colors and the misty flow of the water. Cool!
