Pretty in Pink...

I took this photo shortly after the sunrise photo from the last post. The ragged robins were in peak bloom. Like I mentioned before, I was actually headed to photograph lupines so I wasn't really dressed for trudging through a dew laden field. I had about a quarter mile walk from the road to get to the spot where I photographed the sunrise, needless to say I got soaked. I usually wear waders when I go out at dawn. By the way I did make it to the lupine patch this past Saturday morning so I'll be posting photos from that day soon.

Gorgeous! BTW, if you put up another nest box close to the one the swallows are using, maybe the bluebirds will stay.

Beautiful shot John. Thanks for the information about the orchids. Ragged Robin is a new one for me, it isn't part of the Ohio flora, I had to look it up.

Decades ago, I collected flos-cu-culis or "Ragged Robin" from a ditch of '95 in Westbrook, Maine for my own gardens. I have had it ever since, though I've moved once! I made sure to bring some with me when I relocated as I so love how it weaves its way around all the other things in the garden. It has wonderful seed pods, too. I initially collected it for it's pink flowers, then research revealed its name. For once, my egocentricity rewarded me!
