When I was a kid I never saw honeysuckle but now it's everywhere and is considered an invasive species. I even have one growing in my yard, it's hard not to like them because they smell so sweet and the birds feed on the berries in the fall. I guess that's how it gets spread.

The honeysuckle is very invasive around here. It is a tenacious vine and winds through everything chocking out whatever it takes over. I'd watch that one in your yard carefully or uproot it! They do smell wonderful and the picture is very pretty!

Bittersweet - beautifle and also invasive. I love it and honeysuckle, invasive or not.

When I lived in Delaware, honeysuckle grew everywhere. It smelled really wonderful on those balmy summer nights. I haven't seen any here in Waldo County, though.
I can't help but love the honeysuckle. When it comes to invasive species I have the horrible and prickery buckthorn and the lovely sweet smalling honeysuckle. I'll take the latter over that aweful buckthorn anytime!
Honeysuckle was always around when I was young in New Englad. Who decided it was an invasive species? Aren't we all invasive speies in some regards? I'm sure the birds don't mind!
I haven't seen or smelled honeysuckle in a long while. I used to have some outside my bedroom window as a kid. Used to love laying with the window open just inhaling that sweet smell.
