Blue Vervain....

I don't know how common these blue vervain are around here but I found it on the side of the road on Sunday morning so it qualified for this series. When I started this I thought I'd do it for a week and be done with it but once I started noticing the flowers I realized just how many there are just growing on the roadside. As the summer progresses, each week I notice new flowers blooming. I've decided to do a book and feature all of the photos I've been posting. There are a lot of sites now where you can do self publishing. I'll keep everyone posted.

Beautiful! Is this also an Herb? the name sounds familiar. This picture reminded me of what my son said to me this week when he asked me the name of a flower.. I told him it was called a blue bell and he said.. No mom that's not blue it's purple.. LOL out of he mouths of babes... thanks for sharing John

Oh, goody....you will have us all lined up ready to buy your book! These have been wonderful photos from start to finish and really encourage a person to check out their roadside to see what gems lie there unnoticed. Today's photo is very delicate and I can see how people can walk by, when not looking, and miss something like this.....but when you do look...wow!

Very pretty! I've seen several things on the side of the road I've wanted to shoot but there's not always a place to pull over.
