Vaughn Woods....
Vaughn Woods in Hallowell is a very nice place to visit with easy hiking trails. The one steep and slippery trail leads to this waterfall underneathe the stone bridge, it's worth tackling the trail to get a photo like this. The image was taken during the month of June, my favorite month of the year. The leaves on the the trees are still fresh and haven't been bothered by wind and bugs and aren't as battered looking as toward the end of summer.

Some Like it Wet....
I've been to Sabattus River many times throughout the years and there are many photographs on this blog to prove it. Even though I've been many times it seems I always find new things to photograph. I had never noticed these moneywort blossoms before despite being in this particular location on numerous occasions. A low vantage point and a wide angle lens helped me get this view.
I went back a couple days later after more rain and got a closer image. A polarizing filter was used in both images to reduce shine on the rocks and leaves.

Sometimes You Get Lucky....
This photo was taken from my kayak. When I took this image I had no idea water was dripping from the adults bill but I think it adds some interest to the picture.

Patience is Key......
Of all the birds that come to my feeder, the mourning dove is one of the most skittish, by sitting in my blind for a few hours, I was able to get a decent image.
