Complimentary Colors....

I took this photo Friday morning by Sabattus River but at a different section then where I was on Thursday. I thought it was interesting that one branch on this maple was already red while the rest of the tree was still green.

Perfect! Truly complimentary! I do think it is interesting the way Fall picks different branches on the same tree to turn....maybe the ammount of sunlight? Seems like the colored ones are often sticking out in the light more.

That is interesting. I guess it gives light to the saying, each thing in its own time. The colors do compliment each other. Makes me wonder... if this why Christmas colors are usually red and green?

I'm with 2sweetnsaxy, I've seen a lot of the reds and greens this year. Reminds me of Christmas.

John, you are helping me get my autumn foliage fix since I can't be there in person! I always love it when the trees do this! It makes me wonder, "why only this branch?"

I've put the brakes on wondering and concentrate on enjoying what nature serves up.
The two branches are such a perfect contrast, not only the direct colour contrast of red and green, but also in the same tonal value of the two colours.
You certainly have an eye for a good subject.
