I found this guy a day before I found the grasshopper but unlike the grasshopper this katydid jumped off the blossoms after I took a few photographs and I haven't seen it since.

Wow John, they just keep getting better and better! I had no idea that bugs liked these flowers so much! But I'm glad they do...they make for some wonderful images!
Fabulous!
John, that one is perfect! Thank you!
Lots of bug life on one group of flowers!
Wow...great shot! I could see every little detail of its patterns and texture. Those few minutes were obviously long enough! I thought about you yesterday when I was in that butterfly garden....you would have been thrilled (except it was really sunny).
That's a fantastic shot. Growing up, my nickname was Katydid. I think I might have appreciated that more if I had seen a picture like this one.
Excellent - not only the Katydid, but also the detail in the cone - the dark purple is just outstanding!
Cheers, Klaus
Those must be magic flowers. Great photo.
These are so great John!
I don't think this could be any more perfect!
nice of you to drop in the other day. Checked out your old post and wallowed in snow and nostalgia. The loons with their haunting calls and otters. Flora and fauna in the wild and first light is what makes the heart sing.
Thank you for stunning Photos and generour sharing of know-how.
