100 and Counting...

I've reached a little milestone today, it's my 100th post, here's to the next 100. In the fall of 2006, thousands of these pink tulips were planted around the city of Lewiston. These two photos were taken during a dreary, rainy day last spring. I posted a photo a few weeks ago taken at the same time but these are a couple of different shots. On a few of the pictures where I used a real wide aperture (f2.8) for shallow depth of field you can see raindrops frozen in the air because the wide aperture caused a fast shutter speed.

What beautiful pictures! It may have been dreary and raining, but the flowers are bright and cheerful! Congratulations on your 100th post!

Hi John, beautiful tulip images, my wife would really love these. Speaking of Megan, she grew up in Oxford Hills and I showed her your pics and she said that she went to camp (pilgrim lodge) with a person named Margaret Theberge in the early 90's when she was middle school. Any relation?

Keep those posts comin' John, they are just beautiful. And very helpful. Yesterday while photographing my "birds" I ended up using your foil lighting on the robin and it worked perfectly. The with and without pictures were all the proof I needed. I will be using this technique from now on.
THANKS!

John,
I was spending a little time this morning going through your posts from the beginning. If anyone has not done this...YOU REALLY SHOULD!
The photos are uplifting and beautiful!
John, make sure you check out my post this morning...I had some fun guests in my pond. I guess I need to get a blind so I can get close up and personal with my visitors.

Hey it shouldn't be long before the motorcycles come out. I bought a small Canon G9 to take with me on the bike. I'm a little nervous about bringing my 5D on there with me.
I'm already looking forward to tomorrows post!!

Your photos make Lewiston look beautiful. I lived in Livermore Falls for almost 2 years and so travelled through your town frequently. I stop for cafe mocha's from Tim Hortons when I do. I'll add your blog to my Maine bloggers list. Good job.

Congrats on the big 100! I'm sure many appreciate the scent of spring by now. Down south spring's in full gear - but I like it anyway.
Cheers, Klaus

Congratulations on this milestone! I always look forward to visiting your site and admiring your photography. Thank you.

A tiny nub of a tulip is coming out of the ground on the warm side of my house. It may be in for a shock if we get another storm, but I'm really cheering for it!
