Thinking of Sunny Days...

I was photographing my neighbors sunflowers and got lucky when the bee landed on this blossom making for a more interesting shot.
The cardinal flower yesterday was taken with my old Canon F-1 with Fujichrome Velvia film and a 100mm marco lens. The rhodora was taken with the Canon 20D and Sigma 180mm macro lens, most people got it right. Oh, and yes, the foil fill light technique I talked about a couple of weeks ago was used on both of yesterdays photos.

A lot of times photography is all about timing. :) I like the fact that the bee is facing inward toward the center of the Sunflower. Nice shot!

Very nice...I love the perfect pattern in the center of sunflowers before they are totally open. The bee is a nice extra element to the picture drawing the eye in to the center. What I just said is... it's a lovely picture:-)

John, LOL I have to google Cardinal flower.. To be sure which one you ment. It is very reminiscent of our Indian paintbrush. Beautiful post today of the sunflower, especially with the added interest of the bee.. Good Job!

Gorgeous picture! Thanks for the answer to the quiz, too. I saw those red flowers at Sieur de Monts in Acadia, and I've always wondered what they were called.

Great title! Me too...It's 38 and raining here, so the sunflower is a very welcome sight.
