Fireweed...

Fireweed usually grows in a cluster at the top of a spike but it's late in the season so most of the flowers have gone to seed and there were only blossoms here and there. I wish I would've found these sooner because there was quite a group of plants, the mass of pink would've made a nice photograph.

John, one pink flower made a nice photograph!

We don't need masses, when one is so lovely :-) I'm sure they would have been beautiful, but this one is a lovely example all by itself. Still working on that book?

Hello John

Nice shot - we call this flower, Rosebay Willowherb over here in England. It provides a lovely swathe of purple / pink flowers in the mid/ late summer.

Best wishes, Adrian
